Being in the Social Work Department, everyone is usually a big advocate of self-care. I had talked to some of my professors about what I was going to be doing with this blog, and asked for some advice. I couldn’t think of better people to ask, then professionals who have given self-care tips to clients themselves. I have some of my own tips and tricks, but I wanted to see what suggestions they had. Utilizing your resources, and asking for help is something that everyone should do. You can NEVER know enough information about anything.
Anyways, one of my Professors sent me to this website which was literally, THE GREATEST THING I HAD EVER READ about self-care (sorry for the all caps, its my way of showing excitement). I could post the entire website on here, and you guys would be set to go, but I won’t do that. I want to post things piece by piece, and keep it very simple. If you can help yourself just one small area at a time, you are on the fast track to success.
On the website, they have a “self-care assessment” which I think is a great starting place for people. It helps you get a grasp on where you are with taking care of yourself in every aspect of your life. Having a visual of how you take care of yourself is much more effective than just trying to think about it.
So HERE’S the link, print it off, try it out, and I hope you have a wonderful day!
